"William Temple House is an absolute standout of a highlight during my time in London. Far more than simply a hostel for university students, it's a warmhearted refuge from the cold London rain, a 24/7 support network, and a wicked haunt to throw awesome themed parties!

The staff go above and beyond to ensure each resident feels welcome and comfortable during their stay. The friendships you will make in these sacred halls last a lifetime."

"Staying in William temple house was undoubtedly a wonderful experience! One of my biggest concerns was being far from my family in a foreign country for the first time, but unexpectedly I felt very welcomed, like it was my second home. I met many friendly people from all over the world! I loved how the wardens were always attentive and caring, whenever they could, they would organise nice 'family-like' activities. I have very nice memories! For example, making breakfast together on a Saturday morning and talking about our studies, playing games, and cooking traditional dishes from our countries to later share with others.

The wardens/administration even gave us gifts for Christmas and created nice initiatives like writing positive messages when leaving the house or encouraging us to write secret letters to other residents highlighting the positive qualities of others (for friendship day), just to mention a few. Incredibly kind of them and all the trustees who make this possible."

One of the best things about living at William Temple house was that I was able to meet so many different people from all corners of the world! I enjoyed learning about different cultures, and traditions, especially through the cultural nights we had (French night, Diwali night, Spanish night, and more). It was also interesting to meet students with different academic backgrounds - from musicians to researchers, every conversation was always something new and exciting!

Apart from the events organised by the residents, the wardens also organised fun events throughout the year such as day trips to cities around the UK, Christmas dinners and summer barbecues. There were many exciting trips, but my favourite memories were the cozy chats with other residents in the common room, late night dinners in the kitchen after a long day at university, and just lazing with Schweiny the cat in the back garden.

William Temple House to me was a perfect ‘home away from home’. I made unforgettable memories and amazing friends throughout my years there. If you’re reading this and thinking of applying, just do it! It was one of the best decisions I’ve made :)
